RESIDENTIAL ROOFTOP SOLAR

Home solar, planned around your life.

A home solar system should match household electricity use, usable roof space and backup requirements. VO Greentech Sunrays helps homeowners across North India review on-grid, off-grid and hybrid options before agreeing a site-specific proposal.

Begin with electricity use, not a panel count

Share recent bills and tell us when the home uses most electricity. Air conditioning, water pumps, cooking equipment, work-from-home use and planned new appliances can change the recommendation. Where possible, several bills show seasonal differences better than one month.

System capacity is measured in kilowatts. Choosing a size needs more than matching one bill total. The roof, electrical connection, daily use and current approval rules also matter.

Choose the right type of system

  • On-grid: connects to the electricity grid and suits a discussion about daytime generation and permitted export arrangements. A standard system does not provide outage backup.
  • Off-grid: combines generation and storage for loads designed to run without depending on the grid. Battery sizing and expected autonomy are central decisions.
  • Hybrid: can combine solar, the grid and compatible batteries. Backup depends on the selected equipment, wiring and essential loads.

Use our solar buyer’s guide to compare the questions to ask about each option.

Check the roof and permissions

A terrace needs enough suitable space, manageable shading and safe access. Water tanks, nearby buildings and daily use of the terrace may affect the layout. A structural assessment or roof work may be needed and should be identified in the scope.

If you rent or share the building, arrange the relevant owner or society permissions. Confirm whether the system will connect to your household meter or a shared supply before progressing.

Understand the price and support

Ask for a quote covering panels, inverter, mounting structure, cables, protections, installation, taxes and commissioning. Clarify whether batteries, roof work, approvals and monitoring are included. Savings estimates should show their assumptions rather than promise a fixed result.

Confirm manufacturer and workmanship warranties separately. Ask who handles a fault, which maintenance visits are included and which items may cost extra. A maintenance plan should fit the roof’s access and cleaning needs.

Subsidy and application support

Residential schemes may support eligible projects, but eligibility and disbursement depend on the current scheme and approvals. Consult the official PM Surya Ghar portal and your electricity provider. We can discuss the application support included in a proposal.

Send your city, property type, recent bill and any roof photos to begin. You do not need to know the right capacity before contacting us.

Common questions

How much roof space does a home system need?

It depends on panel size, layout, shade, access and the intended capacity. A site assessment confirms usable space instead of relying on one standard area figure.

Do I need a battery?

Not every project needs storage. Batteries are considered when backup or off-grid operation is a priority, with the design based on the loads you need to run.

Can I enquire before choosing a capacity?

Yes. Select “Help me decide” in the form and share your location and household electricity needs.

Tell us what you’re planning.

Share your location and requirements. We’ll help you identify the next step.
